    Where to begin… 1) If new life *did* arise in your peanut butter, it would be microscopic, and almost certainly not a specific strain that would grow quickly in a preservative-laced food product, so it would not be noticed.
    2) If new life did arise, it would very likely be overwhelmed/outcompeted by existing life, which has had millions of years to adapt and grow strong, such as the symbiotic relationship seen between cells and mitochondria.
    3) The modern food industry is less than one hundred years old, whereas millions of years may have passed before the accident of spontaneous life occurred.
