What would Jesus do? Exactly….

This was the first of my Atheistic tattoos. I got this tattoo a few days after Brother Hitchens passed away. He was such a huge impact on me in finding my atheism and finding my own way.

I think the biggest help from him was learning how to disagree with him and form my own views and opinions from his works. His book “Letters to a Young Contrarian” gave me a broader outlook on life and yet another label for society to digest.

This tattoo also shows another influence. Professor Dawkins’ out campaign scarlet “A”. In the “C” the symbol is from Pink Floyd’s album, “Momentary Lapse of Reason”. All of which have undeniably shaped my life for the better and taught me to forever keep an open mind.

I know the guy who got this tattoo thought he was being clever, but seriously, if you’re going to permanently mark your body in order to make a point about the stupidity of religion then you should at least make sure that your point isn’t… well stupid.

This tattoo is just wrong on so many levels, not the least of which being that it appears to claim that mankind reached it’s peak under the cross of Christianity and it’s all down hill from here.

It’s stuff like this which makes our arguments so easy for the religious to ignore.
