Greetings Disciples! It is I, Tha Lord of Lords, creator of all mankind, the heavens, the Earth. I come upon thee today (sorry about that) to teach thee a lesson of Holy History. Today’s lesson is on the Wailing Wall. You know the Jews, they love complaining.
The “Wailing Wall” is also known as the “Western Wall” or Kotel. It is believed to be part of Solomon’s temple. Apparently, Solomon was very rich because “God” blessed him with an enormity of wealth. (Sounds kinda Catholic to me!). The wall serves many purposes for the Jewish faith. Hebrews come from places far and wide in a pilgrimage to this Holy destination. Here they gather for fellowship and prayer. They also cut coupons and calculate the the enormous amount of wealth they have preserved by berating shopkeepers into a better price. Scissors and adding machines are available for rent in the lobby for a nominal fee. Admission is $9.95 for adults, $4.95 for children, and three shekels for Jews.

The wall is also considered a Muslim Holy site. Islam refers to it as the Buraq Wall and it is forbidden in some Muslim cultures to refer to it as the “Wailing Wall”. Islam believes that the wall is a portion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is probably why they haven’t tried to blow it up. Islam believes the wall to be their property (keeping with the tradition of wanting anything that the Jews have). The Jews also believe that it belongs to them (keeping with the tradition of wanting anything that anybody has). The religious and political battle between Middle Eastern nations for rights to the wall continues as it has for thousands of years.
Should modern civilized men really be fighting over a pile of stones? Surely not. Verily I say unto thee that a pile of rubble is not a means to an afterlife. Why then does man cling to traditions and rituals from primitive cultures thousands of years passed? In every aspect of life, man has moved forward except one: religion. Very little has been brought forward from this era. Medicine, science, technology, theories, agriculture, and education have undergone radical shifts in thinking that have improved the lives of men. I sayeth unto thee: throw out your rituals and traditions. For tradition is the opposite of progress.
Peace be with you, and also with you.
