How can a billion people be wrong? I guess the Earth IS flat then and the sun does orbit around the Earth!

And the actions of a religions believers/followers are the perfect way to judge a religion, it is the living embodiment.

Also, Atheism is not a religion, it is the refusal to believe in one, the absence of religion.

Here’s an FYI that I saw on a tweet the other day – I forget the author but it’s relevant.

If all atheists were removed from the US today, America would loose 93% of her top minds and scientists but only 1% of the prison population.

What’s the point in brainwashing children with nonsense about a non-existent god?  Religion was created so one small group pf people could control the thought and actions of a large group.

Your jesus never existed but is a myth stolen from earlier myths.  Look up Horus, Attis, and Mithra.  You’ll see that christianity was founded upon lies, and is lying still.  “Do not bear false witness”  Sound familiar?

Your religion teaches intolerance, hate, and killing.  Read your own bible and learn who kills the most in it.  Observe how ridiculous the fables in it are.  You have nothing to lose but your delusions.  “The truth shall set you free”.  Does that sound familiar, too?

      • James Smith September 29, 2011 at 6:50 pm - Reply

How can a billion people be wrong? If you accept that as a valid statement, then you are saying that the Muslims are right. Then there are also the Hindus, Confuciusts, and all other religions. Any of them would say you are a deluded fool. But some truths we hold to be self-evident. LMAO!

How can a billion people be wrong?  By agreeing to things as stupid as that statement.  One person can be wrong and so can a billion.  You are a prime example of the willful ignorance that follows religion.

Prove that even one thing about christianity is correct.  Jesus never even existed.  I can prove every word I say, you can prove nothing. The obvious fact that you haven’t even tried verifies my statement.

I stopped believing in imaginary people when I was a child. If you had an imaginary friend called “Benny” and you prayed to him everyday, asked him for stuff and went around telling other people to believe in and pray to the invisible man in the sky and they should too or you’ll burn for all eternity, you’d be locked away for your own good…. But because he’s called “Jesus and was a white Jewish guy” it’s okay…

There is no god, enlightenment must come from rational thinking and accepting the evidence of your senses.

Do you mean like “christian love” that bombs family planning clinics, discriminates against gays, atheists, and women?

Many Christians today love to reference the large number of believers worldwide and the rapid spread of Christianity as proof of God’s spirit at work. What they fail to mention is the history of how God’s spirit convinced people to believe.
The Bible is very consistent in proclaiming sadistic eternal punishment for all non-chosen and non-believing people upon death. This irrational fear mongering has helped successfully propagate this religion throughout the centuries. God loves you and will burn you for eternity if you don’t believe it … and he needs your money.
Throughout the past 2,000 years, Christianity has played an equally sadistic role in people’s lives on earth to convince them to “accept Jesus.” Having complete control over government, human life and spirit made it very easy for the church to do so.
The Christian church murdered, tortured, mutilated and destroyed millions and millions of people both directly through the Inquisition and indirectly through the Crusades and wars they incited. Between the years of 1450-1600, the church was responsible for the torture, and burning of approximately 30,000 alleged “witches.” Millions of these “witches” were murdered over the course of a millennium. Girls as young as nine and boys as young as ten were tried for witchcraft. Children much younger were tortured to extract testimony against their parents. Children were then flogged while they watched their parents burn alive at the stake.
During the reign of the Roman Emperor Constantine CE 306-337 the doctrines of the xtian church were regarded as the foundation of law. Heretics (persons who opposed church teachings) were sought out, tortured and eventually murdered. Heresy was an offense against the state as well as the church. For hundreds of years, civil rulers tried to wipe out all heresy.
        According to Pope Innocent III:
“Anyone who attempted to construe a personal view of god which conflicted with the church dogma must be burned without pity.”
After the Catholic church lost governmental power, they had already indoctrinated millions of people into the Christian belief system. It’s the perfect recipe for a healthy religion. Start with a little murder, torture and fear propaganda to get the ball rolling. Then allow child brainwashing, tradition and fear of death to do the rest. God’s work is a beautiful thing.Passages such as Matthew 10:34: “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.”2 Thessalonians 2:11
For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.And one more quote to show you are a liar about Einstein. It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal god and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious, then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.

        ~ Albert Einstein
Are you tired of having your head handed to you every time you post another series of lies?

    • James Smith September 29, 2011 at 6:54 pm - Reply

Jesus is hard to understand because he never existed.  I can prove that while you can prove nothing except that you are personally willfully ignorant and stubbornly stupid.

Prove anything I said is wrong and prove anything about your religion is true.

      • Chris September 30, 2011 at 3:11 am - Reply

Tacitus the Roman Historian (56 AD-120 AD) refers to Him, as does Josephus the Jewish historian (37 AD[ish]-100 AD).
If you know much about the history of Christianity, you know for a fact that Jews and early Christians did NOT get along. Early Christians were frequently fed to lions, stoned, and burned alive for simply being Christian, and it was in large part due to Jews. (Part of why the Apostle Paul’s conversion to Christianity from Judaism was such a big deal, since he was pharisee) For a Jewish historian, to confirm that Jesus existed, if he had not would’ve basically been blasphemy. (It would be *like* saying Allah existed as a Christian, or *like* saying that Zeus existed as a Jew. To confirm a God’s existence to a people group, when he didn’t is a VERY big deal, and just for doing it, would’ve gotten him executed as a heretic by the Jews of the day)

Tacitus refers to him as well. This evidence is a bit less powerful however, since he was a Roman, who was born in 56 AD, and died in 120 AD. The bible was written down around 70 AD (…ish. That’s a guess…give or take a few years, based on the history surrounding it). Still, in all likely-hood, Tacitus would not have written anything down about this Jesus guy, if he could not confirm his having existed (Likely via official documents of the era). So in spite of his being a less strong witness regarding Jesus’ existence, he is still quite a contender in terms of proving Jesus existence.

So, historically can I prove Jesus existed? The short answer is yes.
His divinity on the other hand is another subject entirely, however to deny his existence as a creature that one inhabited this planet, is a silly mistake to make. (similarly to denying the existence of the Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus, or George Washington, just because of what they stood for)

You ignorant moron.  Your own post proves my point.

Not one of the examples you give were contemporaries.  They all were written decades after the “facts”.

Obviously, I know far more about christianity than you do.  I also have the advantage of not being a fool and a liar. The examples of “persecution” of christians are mostly unsubstantiated. The true examples you could give are when christians or anyone else deemed to be a threat to the current power structure were eliminated, whether by Jews, Romans, communists, or Pol Pot. The examples of christians persecuting others, including non-compliant christians are far more numerous and better documented.

Christians cry “persecution” so often so as to distract from their own crimes. Deny, distort, distract, and delay. Those are the traditional tactics of the untruthful, criminal, and evil. Al of those describe the conduct of christianity for over 2,000 years.

Even someone as stupid as you has admitted that the bible was written seven decades after the alleged events.

Thank you for verifying my statement that there is not a single contemporary account of any jesus.  See, even a pathological liar like you can be right occasionally.

There are contemporary accounts of Cesar Augustus and George Washington. There are none of any jesus.  There are earlier myths that the jesus lie was obviously based upon, though.

I suggest you actually learn something about your own religion and adopt a habit of honest research and truthful reporting.  It would take a lot of that to repair your pitiful lack of credibility, but if you don’t start. where will you be?  STill a moronic, unbelievable liar.

      • Chris September 30, 2011 at 3:27 am - Reply

Furthermore, in regards to all the other so called individuals who you claim Jesus emulates, what if those too are coincidence (as they very likely are, and not even a difficult one at that) Do not forget that your world view relies on these coincidences, and without those coincidences, your world view would not stand to any sort of scrutiny. (provided you are a creature of rationality as you claim to be).

        • James Smith September 30, 2011 at 6:38 am - Reply

Jesus does not emulate anyone because he never existed.  Get that through the fog of lies and idiocy that clouds your brain.  The liars that invented christianity for their own benefit used those earlier myths to pull in the gullible.  (like you)

My world view does not depend upon coincidences.  That’s nothing more than one more lie among the many you choose to tell.  Doesn’t it bother you that I continually show you to be a liar and a fool?  You have yet to disprove one word I have posted.  Yet you continue to expose yourself to ridicule and contempt by your own words.  Do you have some form of mental masochism that gives you a perverse thrill from being shown to be intellectually and ethically a coward and failure.

I have repeatedly asked you to prove that anything you say is true or that anything I have said is not true. You always ignore those requests because we both know you can do neither. Hiding from them does not make you appear more creditable, intelligent, or ethical. What it does do is show what a pitiable example of a human being you are.  No, these are not insults, they are simply statements of observed facts.

We will love to help my brother but you are just a non christian. I pray to the Lord before your death that He will show you who He really is? God send He’s one and only Son that is Jesus Christ to pay the price on the Cross, which is our sin’s. So that we could have a relation with God through Christ. I thank Jesus Christ every single day of my life because He had to live a perfect Life and Die on the Cross for us as people to have another chance to live an Internal Everlasting life that is ahead of us. We as Christian believers should spread the Word of God to the non-Christian so that they know that God still Loves you. Jesus is our way to Heaven. My brother don’t you worry because the good News is that there is New Hope that you could change your whole life around and if you want to seek God I ask you brother to read the Bible because I belive God wants to work a miracle in you He will bless you if you believe in Him.

I sincerely hope that very soon, you learn to think for yourself and shake off the brainwashing of religion.  There is not god and no proof of any.  What there is plenty of proof of, is that religion is the true curse on humanity.

Your babble is a badly translated, politically-edited collection of myths and lies.  Unlike that book, every word I speak is the truth and no one has ever been able to prove otherwise.

Further more, there is not a single contemporary account of any jesus.  The first mention is the the gospel of Mark, written decades later.  So Christianity was founded upon a lie and is still lying.  Don’t believe me?  Look up Horus, Attis, and Mithra.  You’ll see where the jesus myth originated and was stolen by the early church to provide something familiar for converts.

Most of the problems of the world are, and always have been, caused by religion.  For example, Northern Ireland, the Middle East, 9/11, and family planning clinic bombing in the USA.  Then there were the crusades, the inquisition, witch burnings, and the dark ages.  Get the idea?

Humanity will never truly be free until the black yoke of religion is lifted by the clear light of truth and rational thinking.

No, you wouldn’t be the only one.  Gullibility, ignorance, and stupidity is very common. As Albert Einstein (a famous atheist) said, “The two most common things in the universe are hydrogen and human stupidity.”

“In view of such harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human
mind, am able to recognize, there are yet people who say there is no
God. But what really makes me angry is that they quote me for the
support of such views.” – Albert Einstein.
Get your facts straight… While Einstein was not a Christian (as is the commonly held belief), he was hardly an atheist. By definition, he was an agnostic. (IE, He believed there was a god, or gods, but did not believe in a personal one, or so he said)
Do not insult him further with such claims that he was an atheist. Most natural scientists are not atheist. Usually it’s the physicists that lean more toward atheism, (regardless of such generalizations) the point is that there is an exceedingly large scientific community that cannot disprove the existence of a god, and in fact, given the evidence, it always leans back to some manner of uncaused cause (in regards to the inception, creation, or existence of our universe). Perhaps you believe that matter is eternal (law of entropy in thermodynamics), but Albert Einstein did not agree with you.

          • James Smith September 30, 2011 at 6:11 am -

You are an excellent example of why christians are held in such contempt by rational, honest people.  Invariably, you are liars and hypocrites.

In my entire life, every time I have been cheated, misused, taken advantage of, or otherwise abused, it has always been by a “good christian”.  Yes, I know there are trustworthy christians, I have some that are valued friends.  But they are exceptions to the rule.

Here are a few quotes from Einstein that illustrate that you are the liar and the one that insults him.

I do not believe in the God of theology who rewards good and punishes evil. My God created laws that take care of that. His universe is not ruled by wishful thinking, but by immutable laws.  Albert Einstein

It seems to me that the idea of a personal God is an anthropological concept which I cannot take seriously. I also cannot imagine some will or goal outside the human sphere. … Science has been charged with undermining morality, but the charge is unjust. A man’s ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties and needs; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.  Albert Einstein For me the Jewish religion like all others is an incarnation of the most childish superstitions… And the Jewish people to whom I gladly belong and with whose mentality I have a deep affinity have no different quality for me than all other people.  Albert Einstein Thus I came… to a deep religiosity, which, however, reached an abrupt end at the age of 12. Through the reading of popular scientific books I soon reached a conviction that much in the stories of the Bible could not be true… Suspicion against every kind of authority grew out of this experience… an attitude which has never left me.  Albert Einstein You also lie about most natural are not atheist.  By actual count, 98% of the members of the National Academy of Sciences (not just physicists) are non-religioous.  At the same time, less the 1% of the prison population are atheist.  Those two numbers alone, illustrate the fallacy of religion and it’s relative position in morality, rational thought, and honesty. You also are a very poor representative of any religion.  You repeat the same tired old excuses.  You theist are the ones making the outrageous claims.  The burden of proof is on you alone.  You have “faith”.   Atheists have facts,   Here are a few thought on faith:  http://slrman.wordpress.com/2010/08/04/80/In the words of your moron spokesman, Bill O’Reilly, “You can’t explain that.”  ROFLMAO

    • James Smith September 29, 2011 at 7:00 pm - Reply

INstead of insulting rational people with statements like, “I’ll pray for you” how about educating yourself and learning how phony religion is.  Learn how myths were “borrowed” and twisted to make more myths.  Learn the impossibilities and contradictions of religions.  The step into the clear light of truth and rational thinking.  When the black yoke of religion is lifted from you, it will be a new world full of wonder and delight.

I am telling everyone you can’t win a war with pure anger but with love and forgiveness don’t attack them like that for they only know very little of the lord forgive and forget. Don’t become the natural man which is an enemy of god

What you need to learn is that you cannot be reasoned away from a position that you did not reach through reason.  That’s why you still believe in any god.  You have not acquired the courage to question and the ability to think for yourself.

You are really a wonderful example of the evils of religion.  Thank you for verifying that religion is the source of most of the violence and hare in the world.

Now, you can cry, “Persecution!” while continuing to persecute others.

You’re forgetting that we don’t believe in curses any more than we believe in Jesus.

althought this person is a fool we must remember what our god would do he would pray for them they dont understand for devils dwell in them

YOur “Lord” never existed.  WHo do you think you are to threaten others with hell?  Oh, I see. just another stubbornly stupid, smugly arrogant, christian fool.

Why do all the Christians in this thread have such a terrible mastery of the English language?

If you believe that the world is going to end soon, what’s the point of an education?  Religion poisons everything.
